Bundle the Services E-Z

Newspaper, mail, telephone, these use to be the way to market products out the public. Now there is a more popular way to sell a product and it is more efficient, personal selling. Personal selling is similar to word of mouth. For example if Mary went to ABC restaurant and had a marvelous time and enjoy the food, she will then tell her friends and family about her time in ABC restaurant. Mary's friends and family are most likely going to trust her opinion and they too will try the restaurant if they tell other people more and more people will come. This is better than advertising. Mary is doing a job but she is not getting paid for it.

International Dynasty is a company that is willing to pay for people like Mary. The company markets to everyday people to become sellers of internet, cell phone services, alarm and much more. International Dynasty knows that these services are used by people everyday, so they have to pay for it. Cell phone providers are using this tool to get out to the people. There is a website filled with discounts, pictures and plans that each customer can choose. Each customer can choose the specific plan or phone they desire and at the same time get feed back from previous users. This type of marketing let people go one on one with people they are familiar with and at the same time find out information about their products efficiently.

The consumers will be more willing to buy a product if there was good reviews about it. Consumers are too willing to use a certain type of service if the there good reviews on them too.

Marketers Remember You!

The other day I was visiting my friends restaurant. I overheard her taking a phone order.
"Ok, Fried rice, chicken wings, ribs, anything else?"
Then I saw her click a button on the computer screen and a long list of the customer's previous orders showed up.
"Do you want to add an order of dumplings to your order?"
Just like that my friend was able to increase her revenue. She than explained that this systems helps track what the customers preference for food was. Since the menu had so many different things, this system allows her to follow the customer's track and not offend her.
Such a small restaurant is already tracking customer behavior imagine what the mega multinational companies are doing to track their customers?

There is an increasing amount of smartphones, computers, and tablets in the market. Each one connects to the internet easily. Virtually the internet can be found anytime and any place. All the new technology memorizes and saves the places we have gone or items we have searched. Marketers in return use these cookies to advertise to the consumers, leading to more sales of their products.

Search engines have saved a secret algorithm so that relevant sites are able to appear when a specfic site is being searched.
Algorithm is developed in the search engine, it is the collection of rules put together in order to identify the most relevant site.
According to Lars Perner Google does the same effect to track consumers:
"For Google, some of the main ranking factors appear to be:
  • Number and quality of links to the site, as discussed above.
  • Relevant keywords.  Note that the ranking algorithm tests for “spam.”  Reckless repeating keywords may actually count against the rating of the site.
  • The “click-through” share of the site.  Since late 2006 or early 2007, Google reportedly fine-tunes rankings by observing the percentage of the time that a particular site is chosen for a given set of search terms.  Sites that are selected more frequently may improve in rank and those less frequently selected—despite their merits presumed from the other factors—may move down."
Basically there are no secrets anymore everything can be track. Marketers now have easier access to all of their consumers and are able to market to each one easier than ever.

E-Commerce has cause dvd-less, book-less......soon paper-less?

A few of the biggest retailers in America has falling into the hands of E-Commerce, Blockbuster and Borders. These two retailers with so many stores and employing so many fellow Americans did not stand a chance against the fast moving pace of the E-Commerce.
When Blockbuster followed by Borders announced bankruptcy, it was not much of a surprise for Americans all around. They were already streaming their videos and reading their books online. Bankruptcy lead them back to a place where they felt familiar. Both retail stores attracted more customers than they had ever before. Since the stores has "everything must go" signs, people were bustling in and out of the store till the very last day. This may be just the beginning, could Newspapers be next.

Newspaper

In 2010 New York claim that newspaper sales has falling 9% since the following year. Newspapers are continuing to decline. Newspaper were suppose to to be making their money off the sales of their articles and at the same time post these articles online for free for the customers to read. If the articles are already online and free, no one is willing to by their papers anymore. Also newspaper's headlines are not likely to update as fast as the internet.
Another way for Newspapers to make a large sum of their money is through advertisements on the classifieds section, now those job hunters are turning to craigslist.com. It is a faster and more efficient to contact an employer at the same time they are able to upload their resumes.
Sundays is usually the days when newspapers supply the biggest amount of advertisements, as each year goes by the amount of advertisements are getting slimmer and slimmer. everybody is turning to sites like couponsuzy for coupons and the stores official websites for the real deals.

Newspaper may the next victim to fall into the hands of E-commerce.
